She wrinkles her nose, lip curling, but her eyes lock on the greasy meat, and soon her mouth is watering, pupils dilating with ravenous hunger. In a sudden burst of ferocity, she tears into the animal, ripping it apart with hands and teeth, consuming the entire carcass. The hunger is contagious. Lying at your feet, wine bottle slipping from his grasp, the man convulses, burgundy liquid filling his lungs, spilling from his mouth. You watch as he drowns in the velvet alcohol. The deterioration reaches the city before you do. You wander through the streets, watching the buildings collapse into mounds of rubble. The ground fractures under you, a deep ravine opening beneath your feet. You stand above it and watch it tear the city’s corpse apart. The clouds above evanesce, revealing the moon. Leaving the manor, you return to the night. The blaze is already spreading, the garden lost under a sea of fire. Trees in their death throes reach for salvation as the flames consume them. The fire reaches the city quickly. Columns of smoke rise from the burning structures. People claw their way out of the buildings, disintegrating as they flee to the streets, nothing more than ash in the wind. The intense heat cracks the stones and cooks the air; the destruction shimmers in the haze. The seas boil as the [[flames spread->cleanse the world]].

The blackened ruins of humanity’s achievements smolder and collapse. A flock of birds takes off, flaming silhouettes against the red sky.
