Ring-Tailed Lemur
I sit, watching
While the females prance around
Claiming dominance
And the males partake in
Their silly little fights.
Here I am
The nocturnal spirit of Madagascar
With my bright orange eyes
And long striped tail
I'm just not meant to be
Diurnal.
And I'm not meant
To be enclosed.
My home is shrinking
Disappearing
I have no where to liv
Nowhere to be.
Where do I fit in?
I get to sit
Inside this cage
And call it home
Because I'm "endangered."
But oh aren't we all.
